The Home of Contemporary Fine Art,
By Huria Hayes.
Huria Hayes, also known as Emma Hayes-Cooke, Is an Artist based in Nelson, New Zealand. With a background in Graphic Design, Huria went forth to study Arts and Media in 2015 at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) and graduated with a Diploma. Huria has explored her artistic ideas digitally in past years, creating styles of art ranging from portraiture, abstract works, and photographic mixed media. Recently, she has taken to painting to express her creativity, breathing new life into “Huria Creations”. She works primarily with acrylic on board or canvas. Her art explores themes of native wildlife, landscape, and portraiture, with detailings of pattern and cultural heritage.
Huria explores through her art, ways in which she can re-connect to her ancestral roots, weaving together strings of her identity through intuitive discovery.
Huria's artwork also draws on her contemplation with coming to understand the spiritual self in the modern world. It communicates her understanding of the union between Heaven and Earth, with the wisdom of learning groundedness in our spiritual self, bringing us to a deeper connection with Papatuanuku (Mother Earth) and our purpose to take care of her nature, animals and the people.

Limited Edition Series: Wish to Hiwa
To celebrate Matariki,
I have created a series of limited-edition artworks,
Titled - “Wish to Hiwa”.
Hiwa-I-Te-Rangi is the youngest star of Matariki,
It is the star that we send our aspirations, wishes and dreams to.
This year I have been feeling the guidance to start sharing my art with the world. It has been a busy time, starting on a new venture with the development of Huria Creations. I felt there was a need to create something that spoke to this special time of year and to celebrate new beginnings.
I release these artworks with my prayers and wishes to Hiwa. May you all be blessed in the years ahead.
